Gutenberg and Marconi

In the history, there are several people who have made significant contributions on journalisim, such as Johannes Gutenberg and Guglielmo Marconi. But both of them aren’t just people, they are consider as inventors. In fact, they invented the movable type printing and the radio respectively. Even though the comparison of these two inventor shows some similarities, their differences seem to be more important.

Nevertheless, Johannes Gutenberg and Guglielmo Marconi have some similarities that are worthy to bring into account. Firtly they were european and their name are well known over the globe, in spite of both are already dead. Likewise, their invensions helped to improve the comunications between humans. Maybe the most important similarity between Gutenberg and Marconi could be the fact that their knowledge enlighten the human kind and mostly the way that we comunicate nowadays.

On the other hand, they have many differences, such as the birth place, the century that they life and the media that they bring to life. Let’s see it: Gutenberg was born in Germany on the XIV century whereas Marconi’s birt place was Italy on the XIX century. Moreover, Gutenberg invented the movable type printing which decades after made possible the press, while Marconi’s invencion, that was the radio, let the human kind hear someone that was miles away. Likewise, Marconi was form a rich family that could afford his university studies, whereas the Gutembergs provide him with a blacksmith job. Im not saying that they were pennyless, becuse they probably weren’t, just that Marconi could study a professional carrer and Gutenberg don’t.

All in all, Gutenberg and Marconi were inventors that life in different centuries, countries, life styles, and so forth. Although, this tiny differences don’t deflect the fact that they do great things for the human kind and some how they make posible the journalism as we know it today.
